Melinda and I were sitting in city hall today, getting some work done on the computer, when we noticed this little group collect in the corner. They were very secretive, closing the windows so no one could see in, and talking in hushed tones. But we caught enough key words to realize that a wedding was being performed. I don't know the couple, so I don't know why they were so secretive. Often couples will perform a civil marriage first, and later (often the same day) a religious marriage in the church. But given how painful this ceremony was, I doubt they'd endure anything more.

Coincidentally, throughout the ceremony, there was man sitting in the back wearing a Team Zissou t-shirt (from the film “The Life Aquatic”). Though he came in and left at the same time as the wedding party, I don't know if he was involved or not.
